This large wall clock is a functional artwork crafted from Pennsylvania black walnut wood, using traditional woodworking techniques. The hardwood glows under a hand-rubbed oil finish. Heavy gauge aluminum is painted with an acid-resistant paint and submerged in an acid bath, which etches away the unpainted background and reveals the artist's design.
