Stratification Tile II
Emil Yanos created this ceramic wall sculpture tile using strips of stoneware clay standing on end to suggest stratification, the formation of layers in rocks. Each layer was sculpted using clay of different degrees of dryness, each demonstrating a unique reaction when stretched, manipulated and glazed.
Mounted in a dark brown float frame that's ready to hang via French cleat, the tile measures 7"h x 14.5"w x 0.875"deep.
