Combining elements of the artist's Cascade and Strata series, this flattened blown glass vessel is inspired by the beauty of geological landscapes. This exterior is composed of lavender and purple glass chips and powders, which are rolled up and fused to the surface of the glass during the blowing process. The horizontal band is a hot wrap of blue glass chips applied to the surface of the piece. The piece is then engraved, carving a vertical pass that reveals an amethyst interior. Finally, it is sandblasted to give it a matte finish that enhances the subtle pattern on the surface. Each is unique and will vary.
