In "Lostman" constructivist form is modeled in three dimensions and in textural variety. This free-standing wood sculpture is mostly colored with transparent paint, revealing the wood grain. It also uses smaller areas of opaque paint. Its upper member is a large fragment of aspen wood and bark, found in an avalanche chute; it includes aged human carvings on the bark side. A small magnet-latched triangular box inset into the aspen opens to reveal a very small abstract sculpture. The box has one glyph created by the artist and painted on the lid.
