This wall installation comes with seven hand-built ceramic butterflies made from high-fire stoneware clay, finished using stains and underglazes, and kiln fired multiple times. Each bird has a sharp, permanently attached steel wire on the back that allows it to push directly into, and extend away from, the wall creating a shadow and three-dimensional effect. These wall installations are ideal for unusual shaped spaces, large walls, or rooms with vaulted ceilings. Each butterfly is uniquely textured using stamps made by the artist from the soles of her children's shoes. Sold as a set of seven and comes with a paper template and detailed instructions for easy installation.
